Best Stores for Buying Tile
I have had a lot of questions recently from colleagues looking to purchase their first flip, and something that commonly comes up is where to purchase materials.
”Where do I find cabinets?”
“Where do I get countertops?”
“Where do I find tile?”
Oh, the options for tile are endless. Tile is actually one of my favorite things to shop for during renovations, and honestly, my favorite projects revolve around tile.
The first thing to differentiate (as with all material options) is builder-grade from designer grade from custom.
I generally prefer tile from specialty designers or boutique shops because the quality is significantly different, especially as it relates to tile sheets. The spacing for sheets is better quality and applies better with even tile spacing. In addition, specialty-focused stores have a stronger selection that is always up-to-date on the latest trends, and will be able to reliably order you the amount you need, whereas builder-grade stores tend to discontinue tile more often or infrequently restock, leaving you empty handed if you need more coverage.
