3 Things to Know When Patching Flooring
Level the Floor -- make sure each part of the floor is level. This includes the actual subfloor, and any additional subfloors thereafter (backer board, pads, etc.)
Add a waterproof membrane for floors in the kitchen or bathroom -- This can be Red Guard paint-on mixtures for the moist environments, or simply water-repellant padding that won’t absorb moisture!
Save flooring fixes for the latter half of project updates -- build walls and add drywall/paint prior to floors. It’s easy for flooring to take in color, chips, or stains during construction, but 10-fold more work to fix it
